For your consideration is this custom built Jem project by SimsCustomShop. Really sorry that I have to part with it but I need money to cover some unforeseen expenses that I have done lately and more of them is just about to come... We're going through really hard times here in Russia. Anyway if you're interested it's yours.
The body and the neck were built by Patrick Sims in February, 2015. He also did the paint job. I have first assembled this guitar a couple of months ago and it's been taken apart several times for some mods until I was quite satisfied with its sound. Last time I had it disassembled for shielding and re-soldering to standard Jem switching system but never finished it.
Judging strictly and honestly, the overall build quality is 7 out of 10, and it's all about work accuracy and nothing that actually impairs playability. The paint work on the body is quite good - there are some imperfections as slight dents in clearcoat, though hardly noticeable. I had some wood work done to set pickups and there's some work to be done to properly install tremolo spring claw (in case your perfectionism is as strong as mine, or you can as well leave it as is). Clear pickguard has got a small crack in it (as pictured). Likewise the neck is just not perfect cosmetically - it's new with zero fretwear and no cracks, but there are some paint flows on headstock edges and smallest unpainted spot at the lower edge, glue leakage on the 17th fret and slightly oversized nut shelf that extends 2mm (0.08in) beyond the nut, though it's not that noticeable with truss rod cover installed. Otherwise the neck feels great and comfortable to play. I finished it with two thin coats of tru-oil.
