2 conductor and 4 conductor pickup wiring using a 5 way selector switch
I bought a seymour duncan 59' all black and Sh-4 jb for bridge
when I check on it I noticed that the 59 has 2 conductor cable only 1 hot and 1 ground
i then remove the back cover last night and I was surprised that my inf3 and in4 has 4 conductor cable
red,back,white,blue and bare
just like the dimarzio except for the green its colored blue. (please verify if same color code with dimarzio)
now I want to use it in a 5way selector switch
need help on how I can do this.
This is my current configuration I did not solder it yet just to test.
current wiring for bridge(SD sh-4) is red and white taped.
bare and green goes to ground vol.
black to selector switch
for the 59 ground is connected to vol ground
and the hot is connected to the selector switch
can you please verify if this is correct?
5 way selector switch : (5,4,3,2,1) 5=bridge
tested it and heres the result
when you switch it to the right(5) for bridge
the bridge pickup works
and when you switch to (4) it has the same sound as (5)
when you switch to the center (3) it produces a clean sound (like a strat)
when you switch it to (2) I think the neck activates and same sound as (1)
and is there a 3 way switch available that has the same look as the 5way selector switch
I might be replacing the 5way if this configuration is correct.
