540p wiring

I'm trying to wire a 1988 540p and I'm not sure how to wire the 3 way mini switch for the bridge pickup humbucker. Does anyone know what each position is supposed to do? I'm assuming one of the positions is for humbucker, one position for coil split and one position to shut the pickup off, is this correct? Any helpful diagrams would be appreciaed.

Here's where i am so far, i'm pretty sure i've got the neck and middle pickups wired correctly to the 2 way switches, but lost when it comes to the humbucker/3 way switch.

Re: 540p wiring

This is H/S/S right? The center position is off, and the outer two positions are series HB & split coil. Problem is some of the IBZUSA pickups had 3 conductor and some had 4. I'd almost have to be there to read the pickup. But basically the center position will be off no matter what. It's an on/off/on switch. So no worries there, just hook the main series hot wire to one side, and then the coil junction (whether its 2 wires twisted together or one wire already junctioned back at the pickup) to the other side.

Re: 540p wiring

Hi Frank. Thanks for your response. Yes it is a H/S/S (1 volume, no tone). The IBZ USA is a 3 conductor pickup.

I tried wiring it like the diagram below (just disregard the tone pots)...bridge red to top, wire to volume to middle, and the bottom instead of being "neck red" i had "bridge black"...

Unfortunately this didn't work. In the middle position the pickup was still live.

Next I tried this one (see below). bridge red to top, wire to volume touching both middle conductors, and on the bottom opposite side instead of being "neck red" i had "bridge black"...

I think this is working as the middle is off and it's live in the two other positions. I can't tell if the coil is split though in one of the positions, and it seems opposite what the diagram says (ie. the second diagram is for on/on/on).

I should also mention on the side of the switch it says it's an on/on/on switch
