Any words of wisdom on this combo?

Hey folks,

I have a MIM HSS standard strat and want to upgrade the pickups.

Adler body
21 frets
25.5 scale length
maple neck, maple fretboard

i play music ranging from blues-y rock to hard rock.

i like soloing using the neck pickup, and looking for something with bite. i also like executing pinch harmonics. i can get ph on the neck stock pickup usually when i want, so i think my technique is all right. but easier would be better

doing a lot of research and i'm leaning toward either a Fast Track 1 / Chopper neck and a FRED bridge.

has anyone tried this combo in a like-wise guitar? did you like it? hate? what would you have gotten/done differently?

thanks!

I love the Super Distortion 3 in my mahogany based guitars - not sure about Alder. I've heard good things about the Duncan Pearly Gates in bridge. I like the Texas Specials in middle and neck.

@AlaskaBat: why a super distortion over a FRED?

@guitvai1: i had a pearly gates neck in a ec-256. with a alnico Pro II Slash in the bridge. i liked the PG neck. i could pull off pinch harmonics pretty easy, but i wish it had more of a strong top end.
