Anyone know how to wire a stock ibanez for dimarzio ! Please help :) Im desperate

hi there,

My old Ibby humbuckers have is a red wire, a white wire, and a super FAT bare wire. The superfat bare wire is going to ground i think, as it is soldered onto the back of a pot. And both the red and white wires are connected to the pickup selector poles.

Im changing the Ibanez neck pup for a Dimarzio Breed, but what the heck do i solder... and to what? I've tried one or two combinations but it always leaves the breed out of phase with the old ibanez SINGLE coil in the middle. The breed works great, the single coil works great, but together the tone is tingy and weak, which spells out of phase to me.

I'm a complete pup newb so im really desperate.. or it'll have to be a tech

Please help if you can..

Try Rotti's suggestion, but I would make sure the Dimarzio's wired okay first:

Dimarzio red where the stock red was.

Dimarzio black and white(soldered together) where the stock white was.

Dimarzio green and bare(soldered together) where the stock bare was.

I hope you haven't done the tech thing yet or at least found a site on your own by now. If you go to the DiMarzio site and click any of their pickups, it will have wiring diagrams for several options. The HSH on on there is the typical JEM wiring, and it uses a normal 5 way switch (most techs will say you need a super switch to do it, that's not true). Also, the parallel wiring will make the sound be thin, like a single coil. But if it sounds like a tin can behind a newlywed's car, then you're right, something's wrong. Hope it works!

Kevan, can you please put the wiring diagram back up on your site? I opened it, and all it says is donkey punch.
