Bare knuckle vs dimarzio Pickups

Hi I'm looking at bare knuckle pickups. Do you think there are any cheap pickups that sound like a PAF pro or evolutions

Re: Bare knuckle vs dimarzio Pickups

Hi there,

At least in the US, Bare Knuckles are going to be more expensive than Dimarzio. I have two sets of War Pigs and a Miracle man and cobra set on the way. I dig them, but honestly, I am not sure if they are worth the additional cost or not. Something different to try. Just my .02.

Used PAF Pros and Evolutions maybe? Seriously, I don't know of any cheap knockoffs of those, I would definitely shop for some used ones. And what Tobe said, here in the US BKs are considerably more expensive than DiMarzios.

these guy make great pickups
and affordable
IronGear Pickups - Rolling Mill

the "Rolling mill" set is very similar to a paf pro maybe leaning to the vintage side

IronGear Pickups - Steam Hammer

The "Steam hammer" set is similar to the evo maybe more "evo2" with it's mid hump

but check them out i have a few differnt sets and all have been great

Re: Bare knuckle vs dimarzio Pickups

Final question should I swap out my ibz/dimarzio pickups for a set of iron gear steam hammers. I have a ibanez rg premium 950wfmz. I just feel its missing some power and the harmonics really let it down.

Put a Tone Zone & Air Norton in it...........
There's probably a reason that Ibanez put that combo in ALL their high end guitars

Cottamguitars.co.uk have their new site up and running for all your Dimarzio & Ibanez needs
