Bill Lawrence L500XL 7 string pups

C'mon people, how many of you want one? Maybe if the demand is there, Bill and Becky Lawrence will consider making one.

Have you asked at Seymour Duncan's Customshop if they could make a Dimebucker 7 for you?

Would probably sound amazing too. Unfortunately dime never played seven strings.

i actually think he hated them . I got to say that a 7 string version of the DB would be cool though.

Thereis a huge difference in the B&B L500XL and the Dimebucker.
The Dimebicker is what Dime "endorsed" the 500XL is wha Dime "used" in his guitars.
I have not heard a side by side comparisson, but friends that have (even some that are diehard Duncan players) say that the 500XL is far and away a superior pickup.

Re: Bill Lawrence L500XL 7 string pups

All of dimes touring and studio guitars that were built after the dimebucker was made nearly unanimously include the dimebucker. Im not a diehard duncan player but the two are actually very similar. Two of the same model pickup can sound vastly different in the same guitar. Way too much mojo factor involved in peoples descriptions of pickups. Try it sometime in one of the guitars you play alot you will be surprised.

Re: Bill Lawrence L500XL 7 string pups

There's been some talk of people using the B&B EB50 model's, which are essentially the L500C and L500R with longer blades, typically used in basses. I think they're a bit hard to come by though. They don't make the L or XL wind for those either.

Re: Bill Lawrence L500XL 7 string pups

Someone on sevenstring.org got B&B to make a "7 string" pickup. What they sent him was a 6 string sized pickup with longer poles. Totally worthless.

Found the thread(read the whole thing, very funny).

I rang them up and spoke to Bill himself, he said that they do custom orders for customers and that as long as you give him the exact dimensions he will make you whatever you want......

Not too long before he got Ill, plus he told me about the book he is writting on electronics and the merger with Lace Pickups before it was official. A really nice guy, can't say too much for Becky, but Bill is a diamond.
