Bridge humbucker recomendation

Hi everyone!

I have installed a bridge dimarzio dactivator in the bridge of my schecter blackjack, it's not a bad pickup but for beeing perfect i wish the it has:

- More open sound, more mids maybe
- More verstilaty, able to play classics
- A little less gain

The guitar is a mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard.

What is the pickup model that can do the described above?

I'm sure you've been to this page to compare your pup to others but just in case you haven't;

and I would recommend the tone zone but I don't have experience of one in a mahogany body.

Just for the sake of information what do you have in the neck position? This might help others to recommend you a good pairing.

I am a big fan of the Dimarzio norton... It is very versatile not too loud nice mids
Dimarzio says it's a cross between a tone zone and a fred

and yeah what neck pickup? stock? I'd still look into a norton

Does the Norton have tight sound on the bass strings?

Re: Bridge humbucker recomendation

I just jammed out on my Mahogany super strat Norton\Airclassic pickups

some plini , lamb of god, satch and others

and yes norton is pretty tight for alnico and has crazy harmonics that are accessible in a pinch think old van halen
the good parts of the fRED WITH SOME OF THE tONE zONE'S MIDRANGE
i think it really shines tuned down and\or baritone I am currently tuned drop dflat and she sounds awesome

hope that helps

I looked for a decent video but most of them suck
there are some decent sound bites on the dimarzio page

Duncan JB - there's a reason it's in so many guitars and I'm willing to bet that it's the #1 selling bridge pup of all time. I have a JB in 4 of my guitars and it's still my favorite.
