Dimarzio Ionizer test run

OK, we finally got the Ionizer pickups Dimarzio was kind enough to send me mounted up. It took a little while because we had to start from scratch and I wanted the new floyd to be in at as well (new body time).

So, here it goes, I compared them to the BKP aftermaths in the multiverse, and the emg's in one of the rga8's I have. I have to say I like the Ionizers alot, they are cleaner/tighter than the BKP's, and the EMG's.... well I won't even talk anymore about them, there is a reason most people remove them.
I really thought I was going to be disappointed with them, but that was not the case, the single coil sounds great, the humbucker has a lot of attack, harmonics are good and they aren't muddy at all, and the neck is clean and has a great distorted tone.

I actually prefer the Dimarzios over the BKP'S? so far....

I am using Ernie Ball strings sized: in standard tuning. the body is mahogany, and it is mated to an RGA8 neck. I have an EMG PA2 installed. for the comparisons I left it off.

I will post some audio later, I am battling a cold and feel like crap.

I didn't personally make it, but it is a new body, Chris, at Hot Rod 6 Strings in Danbury made it.
