Question EVO questions?

Hi guys.. I have the RG550 Basswood bodied jap made guitar with maple neck.. Well, I've got a Tone Zone in it now and it sounds awesome, but like all others I'm always looking to get the perfect sound.. Well, I was thinking it would be cool to get that harmonic feedback on a note when it sustains and I hear that the EVO will do that.. I"ve had a lot of different pickups before and I know a lot of people like lower output pickups, but I tend to be just the opposite as I seem to be able to control the guitar better with high output pups.. I'm wondering if the EVO works well with the Basswood bodied maple necked RG? How does it do for Rythem? What is it like compared to the Tone Zone as far as output, etc.. I'm also considering installing EMG's as I hate the buzz and noise I get with Passives.. and I hate being shocked and I always get shocked because some idiiot I'm jamming with plugs into anything then has to touch me or something.. hehe.. I'm also going to go wireless maybe, if I can find a wireless that won't change my tone, but I wnat to get the right pickup combo first then try the wireless units.. I might end up trading the RG if I can find a decent Fender in trade, but othewise I'm hanging on to her as she's a jewel!

Thanks guys..

Re: EVO questions?

Output-wise, an EVO is a little bit hotter than the Tone Zone and the tone is quite a bit different. I'm not a big fan of the EVO because it doesn't have the kind of picking response that I need out of a bridge pickup. Whether you pick hard or soft it pretty much sounds the same with an EVO because it focuses on the mids. EMGs have a great sound for metal and are high output, but to me they are pretty much a one-trick pony. But if you only play hard rock/metal or you have other guitars for other types of music, then they may be perfect.

But of course, there's always the X2N which has enough power to compete with even EMGs. But personally, if I were going to go with a pickup like the X2N then I would probably spend a little more and just get EMGs....ESPECIALLY if you're thinking about going wireless.
