evolution and evo 2 way to clear??

i am going to get a bridge pup in 3 days and i still cant decide
I realy like the sound of the evolution (never had the chance to play with an evo but i have heard a lot of samples and videos) and from all the pups i have heared its probably my fave
the problem is i play guitar 3 years and i am not the clearest player and i hear stuff like it is to clear and thinks like that
the question is do i have to be crystal clear to get the evo?? or can a kind of a sloppy player play with the evos too?
and does the same count for the evo2?
thank you for your time
Mike

Re: evolution and evo 2 way to clear??

The lower the output of the pickup, the easier it is to sound clearer when you play.
The EVO is a higher output pickup so I won't recommend it to you.
The EVO2 is a mid output pickup, I like the tone better than the EVO1 myself.
The EVO2 is warmer and has better dynamic control.
The Tone Zone is a mid level output pickup that has a very aggressive tone with lots of bass.
The FRED and the PAF Pro have even less output than the TZ and EVO2.
They are very warm and full of Mids with good harmonics.

Re: evolution and evo 2 way to clear??

Evo2 in the bridge worked better for me.

The evos in general are clear, which I think will have a positive effect on your playing if you feel you need to clean up your style.

I use bare knuckles in all my guitars, which give exceptional clarity and string definition and I practice through an amp with very low gain. I want to hear every mistake and inadvertant noise so I can refine and improve.

Not saying it has eliminated my mistakes but I am very aware of them now.

All the pickups I mentioned give good harmonics.
Pickups have to be very low output to have bad harmonics.
screams?? Hummm That is more your ring than the pickup.

Not Sebastian here, but do that. I have that pickup in the bridge position of all my guitars including a J Custom and a 7VWH.

It sounds good with the Breed, PAF Joe, Liquifire or Evolution DP158 (in mahogany or alder only IMO) in the neck position.

Btw, I hate the original one. It's acceptable in alder.
