Evolution Humbucker Individual Coil Readings

I have acquired a set of Evo pickups and while I was checking the coils before I installed them. I notcied that the coils are mismatched quite a bit when I measure the resistance.
Bridge 8.1k and 5.7k total 13.8k
Neck 7.3k and 5.3k total 12.6k
Is this correct? or close...

this is the 1st set of these I have owned

thanks

Re: Evolution Humbucker Individual Coil Readings

DiMarzio make quite a few pickups with mis-matched coils. The Evos you listed are two of these such pickups. They will sound slightly different depending on which way they are installed.

Re: Evolution Humbucker Individual Coil Readings

yes I know the Steve Special and a few others...but I didnt know the Evo was that way. I am putting them in a 540S I just got off of Falbo... its DY and the pickups blue and pink zebra...
I thought maybe the evos and the S would be a good match, normally I use either TZ and Reg Nortons or PAF Pro for neck... or F2 and and F1 or F4 for neck... straight in S bodys and replacing the F2 magnet for an alnico 5 in RG bodies...
anyone here use the Evos in an S body?

I use an evolution in my bridge position of my ibanez S470DXQM. Sounds killer!

I think they are designed to be that way, I just bought a set, and noticed the same thing on mine. At the end of the day you just have to plug them in and decide if you like the sound.
