Evolution or Tone Zone on a Maple neck RG?

I have a RG 550dy 20th with a maple fretboard. I am trying to decide if i would like an evolution or tone zone in the bridge position. i have an Air Norton in the neck. I just put a Steve's Special in the bridge and it did fair well. It is very pronounced and the palm muting was very weak. so i pulled it out.

The evolution and Tone zone sound great in my other ibanez rgs. but they are rose wood fretboards. I dont really want to pull those picks up out and start soldering and re soldering.

with the Tone Zone i just wondering if it will be brighter and the bass not be tight?

with the Evolution i am just wondering if it will compliment the Air Norton very well. . I have a Evolution in another 550/Maple fretboard and it does sound great.

Let me know if you tried em in your maple fretboards.. thank you.

the maple neck rg may be a little brighter, and if you are going for more bass response i would say the tone zone is going to work better, and i feel it would complement the air norton in the neck better.

The evo is tight and compressed with a chopped bass response. It may sound too bright if you are going for a more full sound.

Out of all my guitars, probably 90% of them have DiMarzios, NONE of them have Tone Zones...

Some folks love the Tone Zone, but it just sounds 'untidy' to me. Petrucci made it sound phenomenal on Images and Words though!
