Re: Favorite

Well, I can tell you this, my least favorite is Evo, I tried it in both Basswood and Mahogany and it has way way way to much mids and treble and no bass, its all shrill..Must only sound good in Alder or something.

I've really enjoyed Super Distortions, Fred, Super 3 and the X2N. for singles Fast Track 2 is amazing in any position as well as Fender Red Lace.

Definitely the Evo2 these days, followed by the Breed...

Evo2 is THE versatile bridge for my tastes, it can play any sort of tone you want given some tweaking. An Evo in neck is a match made in heaven... its basically our default pickup combo in our custom lines.

You bet it might!

D*mn... my 2 favourite pickups here!

I got "my tone" from the Evo 2. It was the tone I was looking for for ages! Now I can die in piece. (PAF Pro in the neck, also.)
But the JB... there's something about that pickup! It's amazingly articulate (so is the Evo 2), so transparent. It really lets the guitar "breathe"!

Man, I'm lost now... I'm just drooling my keyboard now. I'll stop!

Bill Lawrence L-500XL for everything I play. It delivers the tone exactly as it is without modifying it. Pure clarity and harmonics that kill infants

Re: Favorite

I play metal only, so it's either X2N or EMG81.

Re: Favorite

Overall, I'd have to go with the Tone Zone. It's been my mainstay for 10 years. I've got them in the bridge on all my RGs (basswood, mahogany and an alder USRG30).

A few months ago, I got a new RG2550 and I really like the DiMarzio/IBZ bridge pup for soloing and heavy rhythm playing. Sort of reminiscent of a Super Distortion to my ears.

I was gonna drop a TZ in the 2550 but the DiMarzio/IBZ is staying for now.

Anyone else like the DiMarzio/IBZs?
