Fitting irongear tesla shark to grg270b

Hi guys....first post here so hello from me.

Fitting tesla shark bridge pickup and slightly confused.

The pickups have a red, green, white and a small black wire and a large black wire.on my stock 270b I removed 3 wires to get the stock pickup out.
Ground, red and white from the 5 way switch.

Now on the new pickups it says to wire red as "hot",black to ground and connect the green and white together.

Now I did that and it didn't work,so I have put the green and white to the 5 way switch where the original white wire was and that works.

Is that correct? It works so guess I have something right for it to work!

Re: Fitting irongear tesla shark to grg270b

EDIT - My bad. I just saw "Tesla" and assumed it was the brand.

So you've got the red to the 5-way, and the green and white together to the 5-way, and black to ground? That should be right if I'm reading their polarity correctly.

You connect the green and white together, but also connect the linked pair to the switch--otherwise it won't work.
