Guthrie Govan Charvel Wiring
I'm not a fan of the third position in the standard Ibanez HSH setup. Not only does the standalone single coil buzz, but I also find that the tone and output isn't too complementary with the other positions.
In Guthrie Govan's signature Charvel, he has the neck and middle split for the third position to give a Telecaster-like twang so I thought I'd give it a go too.
I tried it with my SV5470F with an Air Norton, FS1 and Tone Zone and I really like the set up as I find it far more useful.
For those who are looking for a similar wiring setup, I've taken the liberty of drawing and uploading some wiring diagrams using the VLX91. All positions 1-5 are hum-cancelling.
The first diagram is for a RWRP middle pickup and the second for a standard non-RWRP pickup.
EDIT: 28/08/16 - I have changed the "standard" diagram as position 3 means that both coils were out of phase.
