Smile Help me upgrade pickups on GRG270

Hey guys, I'm new here in the forum. I'm from Lima, Peru. I study sound engineering. I've been playing guitar for a long time, but just like a hobby, but now, I want to play seriously. My gear is;

amp: Vox vt40+ valvetronix 60W
multieffects: Boss ME-50
Guitar: Ibanez Gio GRG270

Ok I know my gear is not the best lol, but I actually like the sound of it. Recently I upgraded my amp becase previously I was using a very cheap practice amp, a Fender 15R. And when I switch to the Vox I was .. " woooww" now my sound improved considerably, but I want to improve it more. I know the Gio's pickups " Powersound" are one of the worst, as anybody can say. I want to upgrade them with some better pickups, OK I know you guys will say " better buy another guitar" , I know, but I can't do that for now. I just want to improve the sound quality of my guitar, and down in the road I will buy a new guitar, a better one, probably a Rg Prestige or a PRS.

Ok, so the thing is , which pickups do you thing that will fit my guitar ? Ok as most of you know, My grg270 is Basswood body, rosewood fingerboard, and it has a locking tremolo system, similar to an Rg. I play alternative rock, some indie, hard rock, and a bit of jazz and blues, but I mostly stay at the " general rock" side. I'm looking for versatility.
What do you think about the " Dimarzio D Activator" ? I'm finding them really interesting and versatile. I wouls like to replace the bridge and the neck pickup, and these Dimarzios are at a good price.

Last thing, don't thing that my new pickups will stay in my Gio forever haha. When I buy my new guitar I will probably put my Dimarzio pickups on it .

Ok this was a very long post, sorry for that, and sorry for my english, I'm from Peru .
Thanks a lot in advance!

Re: Help me upgrade pickups on GRG270

For what you want to play I'd be throwing in a Seymour Duncan Custom in the bridge and Pearly Gates Neck for the neck. These are incredibly versatile, and work fantastically in basswood RGs with rosewood fretboards. I reviewed these for the Seymour Duncan blog in my RG470 and with the Quarter Pound in the middle they are a killer combo. They'll cover all the territory you wish to cover and more.
