Re: Highest Output Pickup(s)??

I read that Ceramic pickups were more powerful than Alnico II, V etcetc

bareknuckles and swineshead seem to be retty powerful.
Sure DiMarzio and SD have something in the drawer for you (X2N or Super Distorsion ??)

thanks for the reply, i dont think x2n or super distortion will cut it for me...

ive been looking into bareknuckle, but , again, not enough output. surely theres something higher than them.

Re: Highest Output Pickup(s)??

Emgs aren't as hot as an X2N. The Duncan Live Wire Metal is stupid hot, due mostly to the excessive mids. If those don't do it for you, nothing will, IMO.

At some point either; a) you'd be better off with a booster/overdrive, or b) you're gonna overload the input of your amp.

Re: Highest Output Pickup(s)??

Just a Q...... What makes you think that you have to have MORE output?????
What are you looking to gain via anything louder than an X2n?

I guess that's fair...go with a Seymour Duncan LiveWire with 2 9v batteries; which will be way more output than any human needs ever...

Or, just save your money n buy a tube amp and a good medium to medium high output pickup and do something stylisticly different....

With a LiveWire yer just gonna turn the tone of a good tube amp back into a solid state feedbacking mess

You wanna be different, but you want a Dual Recto? Kinda defeating the purpose.

Sound is 99% in your hand and how you react with your instrument....me and you could play the same setup and have 2 completely different sounds at the same settings (that's where uniqueness of music comes in most )

It's alchemy

Re: Highest Output Pickup(s)??

Higher output is absolutely no guarantee of good tone - usually the opposite!
