Re: HSH conversion to HH
I followed Jemerators advice (thanks for the advice). I grounded the central 3 positions. As I don't use them, after 25 years of playing. I doubt I will start lol.
I also followed up his advice, by trying to learn more about electronics as well as shielding and 'grounding'.
I'm considering also "killing" the neck pickup, as its horrid and will never be used.
Plus you literally can use this setup for kill switch effects. Though the 5 way, needs to be replaced, as this stock Indo part is trash.
HH has always been my preferred pickup combination, as "Singles" have to much "hum" for the type of music I play. And at times, can get in the way of picking, depending upon the music.
The "Invader" I installed, is the best passive high output pickup for me.
It has such a range of sounds you can get out of it, including a very clear and crisp 'acoustic' electric sound, or using the tone control, you can get a 'neck' pickup sound.
Ive used it for almost a decade, so I have had along time to play with it.
It's in my RG 320dxqm Korean (Floyd rose special trem) and the Indo RG 5ex1 (Edge Pro trem).
The "Tone Zone" from Dimarzio in my Prestige RG (Edge Zero trem), has took along time for me to get the right sound out of it. And I still may replace it. But I lowered it, but than boosted the poles high. Which seems to cut the 'bass' a bit, and boost the 'highs', and it balanced out its sound, so its no longer 'muddy'.
There is one neck pickup I really like but I don't think it would mix well with the Seymour Invader, and that's the "Air Norton" by Dimarzio.
Wondering what the "Black Winter" by Seymour sounds like.
My buddy has a GIO also, but instead of moding it, I think he is going to get an RG.
