HSH Pickup Configuration Wiring Mod

Hi guys, I have been playing an Ibanez RG with HSH pickup configuration for a long time now and must admit that I like the versatility of the pickups sound with standard 5-way switch.

However, I was wondering is it possible to have a H-H tone wired into my guitar.

So, would like to share about the modification on my wiring. Don't know has it been done before but just share it to you guys.

I add a DPST switch to the wiring to the humbuckers hot output connected as shown in the diagram

DPST has two switching option:

Option 1:
Work like standard 5 way HSH wiring

Option 2:
The DPST switch "Bypass" the 5 way switch for the humbuckers and both humbuckers are connected straightly to the volume pot hot. So, in theory, it suppose to create the Les Paul H-H middle position tone.

When in option 2, select position 2,3,4 on the 5 way switch will ON the middle single coil as well. So, you will get all Pickups ON at the same time.

For this wiring, a DPST switch or a Push-Pull pot is needed.

Hope can give you guys some new tone from the standard HSH RG.
