ibanez ergodyne edb 350 volume knob issue

Im working on an old ibanez ergodyne bass, model number edb 350, single pickup. The guitar comes on but the volume control is completely unresponsive even after switching out the volume pot. The volume is practically the same level whether nob is at zero or 10. Any ideal on what could be wrong?
