Ibanez F2 humbucker sounds on a 540SLR Saber

High gain 6505 modeling amp with some tubescreamer stompbox in front of the amp. The solo has delay added. Check it out! btw its my '91 540S CW (cherry wine) not my 540SLR. Sorry for that.....

Very cool man........The F2 is really one of those "polarizing" pickups. People either love it or hate it. Personally, I can't get enough of them. I put a ceramic magnet in the one on my 770.......It really boosts the performance.

I'd love to hear a "professionally" recorded clip if you have the gear??

Ya this pickup is real meaty on the lows. It growls for sure. I had to put 9 guage strings on this guitar because of tuning stability problems with the 8's i normally use. The string tension is not enough to balance the spring tension on the lo-pro tremolo when the strings are not crisp and new.
And to answer about the professional recording, my peavey VYPYR has a usb record out but I never bought the software to use it. Its supposed to be studio quality interface but I guess Im lazy and dont want to learn how to use it so I just do live videos with my camera's condenser mic and hope for the best sound.
Thx for watching and commenting.

LOL....so I did the swap TWICE for nothing......

I did a swap on some V7/V8-7's just to find out they were both ceramic as well..........wasted time experimenting again.....LOL

The F2 does sound dramatically different though, I wonder what other factors could be involved (including the placebo affect)

V7 is ceramic, V8 Alnico 5. Swap 'em around and you'll get a good swap.

These were the 7-string version....both are ceramic according to the '08 Ibanez catalog.
