Ibanez factory phase switch wiring
I picked up a new old Roadstar II over the weekend... a red 1986 RG135. Overall in pretty decent shape, with the SSS pickup configuration that I was looking for and original Super 7F pickups. The middle pickup was not working and someone replaced the tone pot with a rotary 5-way switch with a chicken head knob on it. So I pulled the pickguard off to see what the wiring looked like and it seems they removed the middle pickup wire from the 5-way switch, routed it to the little phase switch, then on to the 5-way rotary switch with 5 different capacitors soldered around it... along with a strange little transformer coil between it and the output jack? I have no idea what they were doing.... I just want to put it back to original wiring.
I should be able to figure out the wiring, similar to a strat setup with 250k pots, but this guitar came with a factory "phase" switch. Does anyone know how this phase switch was supposed to work? Any idea how to wire up a phase switch with SSS pickups?
Thanks for any help!!
