That may be helping in that end.
Going by logic alone it doesn't make sense to me.

I mean if I have the Norton in the middle than it already has 2 coils that cancel each other right? then the split coil from either the 2ed or 4th positon has nothing to cancel against?

This may be wrong but that's what I'm thinking at the moment.
