identification help, pictures

any suggestions to what pickups this is?

It is a 1989 rg550 with rosewood fingerboard which i recently bought.

The reason i am asking is because they dont look like the stockpickups. but hey i am no expert...but also that white sc pickup seems like an indication that someone has been fiddling with the pickups.

That very much to me looks like a Seymour Duncan Invader pickup. Those massive chunky polepieces can only be from that Invade pickup.
Go on there website and have a look, but that is my guess. The logo has obviously came off, but I think I am right. And it has defenitely been added and not original. I dont think so anyway.

The neck pickup could be almost any older DiMarzio humbucker. DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan didn't start putting their names on their pickups until relatively recently.

the neck pickup looks pretty much like a PAF Pro, Allen head black poles.
the bridge one is a Seymour Invader (the older ones came without logo) but someone has replaced the poles in the bridge-side row: they look flat Allen head poles, while they should look like the neck-side row poles.

wow...dimarzio, sd...etc...the only problem is...i really dont like the sound i get...

maybe its because im using line6 pod, but i like the sound from my fender with gold lace sensors better...the ibanez sounds more "enclosed"..it doesnt blend in as well when i play along with cds..

well, Fender Lace Sensors and Invader is like black & white. the Lace Sensors are pretty much clean singles, while the Invader is one of the most blasting humbuckers ever made, you can't compare them.

you can switch the pickups on your guitar, or even better, sell it out and get something more than a POD.
