interesting find on some old pickups
So with my minimum knowledge of wiring pickups I decided to wire an old pickup that I had in an interesting way using a switch. I like the strat single coil sound but also like the humbucker sound. I know that you are able to split the humbucker etc... but when I did it yesterday i didnt realize what I did. The pickup was either off of a yamaha pacifica circa 1996? Or my old Ibanez SA circa 2002.... dont know which guitar it came from. Its got a nice crunch to it and sounds pretty clean. Installed in my Ibanez 350. (project and trashed guitar!)
I posted a schematic of how it is wired. apologize for the crudity of the drawing. did it at about 4am this morn.
So when i switch it one way, the north pole of the pickup is activated (single coil twangy sound), switch it again and you get the full humbucker in series. sounds good.
Tell me what you think?
