Iron Label rewiring

I recently had some GAS and came across an Iron Label RG with the fixed bridge and EMG pickups. I like the guitar pretty well but am not a fan of the killswitch. Has anyone here either removed the killswitch and added a tone control or seen it done? I assume it wouldn't be terribly difficult but assumption is sometimes the mother of all screw ups.
