Irongear Hammerhead wiring.

Hi All

New member here. I recently got a Irongear Hammerhead bridge pickup for my SA160. The guitar is in good condition and plays great so I thought a pickup upgrade would top it off. Im on a tight budget so I got the Hammerhead as a friend has one and it sounds really good on his strat. The problem I am having is wiring. I have never connected a pickup and were I live There is no were I can take it to get it done by a tech.

There is a thick black wire a red wire a small black wire and a green and white connected together. I tried connecting them the way the original was wired with the red and white going to the 5 way selector and the thick black going to where the original one was. This didnt work. I have tried a few variations but no joy. Anyone that could help would be a friend for life.

I have read the posts at the top but there isnt anything on Irongear Pickups.

Re: Irongear Hammerhead wiring.

Red wire is the hot wire, thin black is the ground and the thick black is the screen ground from the baseplate. Connect the blacks together. Otherwise it sounded like you had the wiring correct on the 5 way.

Re: Irongear Hammerhead wiring.

Thanks Mark

I had to connected the 2 blacks and put the Green/white where the original red was and the Red where the original white was. Working fine now. thanks for the reply.
