JEM/EVO Middle Pickup

Ok, first things first - should it be referred to as a JEM middle or EVO middle pickup?

and secondly, from what ive been able to gather from here, its the ISCV2 that comes as standard on the JEMs?!

are they available to buy direct from Dimarzio, because i cant see them on their website?!

oh, and do they come in gold, if they are available?

Ibanex Single Coil Vai [or Version] 2.

The 1st was the PAF matched single they never sold. The ISCV2 is available thru any dealer.

Can I give you my 2 cents?

The ISCV2 sounds good, it's one of my favourite single-coils for the middle position, except for one thing: the output. For that only reason, I prefer a True Velvet in the middle.

I don't like the EVO single much.
I like to use the Fender Texas Special in the middle. It is so much louder and it sounds just like SRV, that old strat tone with more output.

Dunno--big fan of the ISCV2 here. Great tones in positions 2, 3, and 4.

Yeah, the output is a bit low, but they sound awesome paired with dp158/159.. 4th position is the boy from seattle sound.

Re: JEM/EVO Middle Pickup

If you're looking for something similar to the original Jem single coil, the ones 'matched' to the P.A.F. Pro, try an HS-1, but only use the top coil. Don't wire it humbucking.

It has a very similar sound and output compared to the original Jem single coil.

Of course, if you're looking for the more modern sounding p/up, just buy the ISCV2.

Try a True Velvet or Red Velvet.
