Let's Play: Guess my blunder

Okay, she's got 2 volumes, 2 tones, a 3 way switch and one coil tap. Amazingly enough, I got everything to work!!! EXCEPT: When I use the tone pot for either bridge or neck pickup, if I turn the treble all the way, it just goes quiet. Like an off switch. So as I turn it goes: bassy -- to trebly then to turning the pickup off!!!

Guess my blunder and win my S540LTD!!!! Just kidding. But I'd be VERY grateful. Guesses allowed, but people who have actually experienced this would get bonus points.

Post the wiring diagram you used, or take some good, well lit pix of the inside of the control cavity.

Re: Let's Play: Guess my blunder

sounds like you grounded one of the lugs of the tone pot. you just need to ground one of the lugs to ground on the volume pot itself. another thing to look for if you didn't, is that it may be grounding itself on the cavity. put a nut/washer on the cavity side of the pot to give some space to keep the lugs from touching the shielded cavity, which is also a ground.
