Looking for JS1000 pickup suggestions

Hey everyone, I just picked up a used JS1000 on the cheap as a beater. I already have a JS1200 and love it, love the tone and comfort of the JS line. With the 1000, I'm looking for something a little different, bit more output from the pickups for higher gain hard rock/metal - GnR and 90s Metallica. For the bridge, I'm looking for aggressive with good bite and chunk for riffing. For the leads, smooth and singing, less "tubular" than the Paf Joe. Basically looking for high output but not super compressed.
I've been looking at Illuminators or the CL/LF combo but am open to anything. Thoughts?

Re: Looking for JS1000 pickup suggestions

To me those are two vastly different sounds. I have the CL/LF in a RG520 and I have yet to get anything close to a GnR sound. It's basically my prog/metal guitar, so I can cover Metallica no problem. On the flipside, I have the MoJoe and PAFJoe in my SZ720 and I can get the GnR tone easily as well as early Metallica (Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning). For a one size fits all kind of thing, maybe the SD Hot Rodded set (JB/Jazz) might be your best bet.

Fair point, I'm more interested in the Metallica/Prog sound of the two since I already have the Paf Joe and Fred in my JS1200. I've mostly been looking at Dimarzio but will check out the SDs. Thanks!

Have a look on the norton DP160 on the bridge and DP103 paf 36th anniv on the neck side. Or a pair of breeds (would be ballsier...)

In that case maybe the Dimarzio DActivators perhaps?
