Looking for pickup suggestions for my Jem 7vwh

So I've been going back and forth on the evos in my Jem for a while. I realized last night that while I absolutely love the lock and playability of the Jem. I am not vibing with the pickups.

I'm looking for something different.

What are you guys using in your Jems?

I was thinking Liquifire and Crunchlab combo, but I don't think the Crunchlab comes in white with gold... I could be wrong though..

I'm a big fan of the breeds if you want something a little less hot that the EVO', but gotta say, I love my LF/CL 7 set in my 7 string. The Breed's are my overall favorite pup though.

Re: Looking for pickup suggestions for my Jem 7vwh

Breeds are funny-
I bought a set for my RG770DX and I hated the way they sounded in it and sent them back to Dimarzio for something else.

I bought a JEM7DBK and a JEM7BSB, both of these guitars came with Breeds in them.
They both sound great???
What made the difference, I'll never know???
The Breeds have a lot of presence with a very aggressive attack.

The EVO1 is very hot and high output.
I like the EVO2 much better, it is a little bit lower output and a lot warmer.

I actually had breeds in a Jem EAFX that I had for a while... I liked the way they sounded... but I'm kind of steering towards the new Gravity Storms if I try something... not sure yet though

can recommend the Liquifire and Crunchlab combo. now have them in my Jem 77VBK. the Jem77VBK has breeds in them. had no problems with the breed pickups but wanted to try the evos. put the evos in but they were not for me so i put the Liquifire and Crunchlab in and they are now staying in the guitar. i like to play metal and they handle it fine.

I'm about to order another Evo 2 and a Gravity Storm neck for my 7VWH.

The 7V is an excelent guitar. People should play it unplugged for a few hours until they notice how Evolutions - DP158 and 159 - make it sound narrow and full of mid-highs.

Re: Looking for pickup suggestions for my Jem 7vwh

The Gravity Storm is hardly any different than the Breed.
The highs are rounded off a little and the bass is a hair less, not even noticeable.
The rounded high end with draw back the overall presence a bit warming the tone just a bit.
If you like the Breed you'll like the Gravity storm, they are so close in design.

The Domination is so close in design to the Breed, I don't know if I could hear the difference between the two pickups.

All three of these pickup are really close in design.

I personally prefer the Breeds in my UV to the EVOs in my JEM. That said, I don't dislike EVOs.

I've got an Evo2 bridge & LiquiFire neck in my 7VSBL and love them. Much fuller & more versatile and a little warmer sounding than the original Evo set IMO.

Evo 2 and Liquifire, Evo 2 and PAF Joe, Evo 2 and Breed DP165, Evo 2 and Evolution DP158, Evo 2 and Gravity Storm, all fantastic combos.

Wait...I'm starting to see some pattern here.
