need help with crunch lab positioning

I know which way it is supposed to go, bar facing neck vs the bridge.

I've been reading on it, and people say that it is supposed to be the other Way for lower tunings, like it is placed on the 7 on petruccis guitar.

Now my guitar is an Ibanez RG 520, basswood body. And I intend to put it in D standard, maybe even C standard. Not sure yet. I have ordered the pick up and I don't know either those tunings which way I should have the pick up facing. It will most likely go in d. Not sure Which because I never remember what gauge strings I use LOL. So I ordered 12s I believe and I'm not sure, just depends on feel I guess.

But anyways, if you could help me out with that, that would be great. I know there is probably differs on d or c. I'll double check what gauge of strings I ordered. But im pretty sure 12s. And if so chances are it will be in C but hell, maybe D I hate floppy strings.

Sadly, there's no right answer here. In either direction the difference in tone/sound will be minimal. If you don't like it in one direction, you can pull the bridge out and turn 180-degrees without re-wiring. I think experimenting is your best answer........

Re: need help with crunch lab positioning

I use 11-54 in C# standard and are the right tension that you can bend easily 1 + 1/2 tone.
If you bend very much in D standard 11-54 maybe can be too hard.

I was using 12-56 in C# standard but was too hard to bend!
