need some help to make an educated choice

if you have seen some of my posts in the gear forum you may or may not have noticed that i got a 5150. I really like that amp but it is a bit mid heavey/harsh at times, i had a norton in my rg570 and it just didn't work for the sound i wanted.

So i am looking for a dimarzio that is smoother and maybe not as mid heavey or has a really smooth feel even it the pickup does have a lot of mids. I am happy with my fred, it has that mid spike but it works well with the amp.

So i was thinking about these as possible choices to replace the norton.

steve's special
breed bridge
evo 2
paf pro

or maybe you have a good suggestion, but those are the pickups that i havn't had and am intersted in, but i am totally open to suggestions.

Re: need some help to make an educated choice

The Breed bridge is smooth... very smooth and rounded. Despite having more mids on the Dimarzio Tone Chart than a Tonezone, the Breed doesnt have that much of a awwww sound to it.

Perhaps a megadrive instead of the steve's special?
