New pickups in RG3120

I recently bought a Tone Zone and a PAF 36th for a different guitar only to realize that they don't sound that great in that particular guitar. I'm thinking about putting them in my 3120 just to make it look a little different. Here is a picture of the pickups sitting on the strings...just to get an idea of what it would look like

I like it. Looks pretty cool and would make my 3120 just a "little" different.

Re: New pickups in RG3120

Lol... the 3120s already come with tone zones , and the paf 36th is gonna be very close to the paf pro you already have it in... don't expect much difference at all honestly.

Edit: oh you mean cosmetic changes. Go for it dude, I think it looks sweet.

To me that looks cheaper, zebras draw too much attention, and black pickups looks way more classy in this guitar.

Just proof that beauty is in the eye of the beholder I for one think its VERY cool. The black kinda "blends in" and is more subdue then these zebras. I think the extra "pop" goes a long way personally. To each their own I guess

I like it too, although black/cream would be even better.

I agree. It would blend in with the natural "binding".

Re: New pickups in RG3120

Keep them black (pickups should, in 99% of all guitars, always be black) :-)

Zebra makes it look like a Les Paul wannabe and a Ibanez gets sad by that stuff and starts to intonate badly.

J what? Do you mean Michael Jackson? He was a zebra, right?

Just kidding.

I have seen loads of those (own many too), but it does not help, Ibanez makes visual mistakes too. Zebra is just wrong no matter what. And crazy colors are even more wrong than that.
I believe that it's even forbidden by law in some countries in Europe to use crazy color pickups (everything beside black considered as crazy lunatic color) and it punished by having to listen to constant re-runs of Idol 24/7 for two month.
Seems tuff for a thing like that, "little thing" people might think, but it is far from little and any punishment are getting away to easy for a crime like that.

Yes, there we have it in black on white (no crazy color at all).

Me have spoken, ugh!

/Magnus (please do not take this serious)

Actually, they are black/cream. They look white, though, for some reason.

Thanks for all the opinions...I guess it really is a matter of personal taste. I happen to think it looks pretty darn cool. I think black looks cool, too and I wouldn't go out of my way to switch them, but since I already have the zebras...I'll think about it some more :-)

So I suppose the neon green & pink stickers I was going to put on the black pickups wouldn't be a good choice? ;-)
