Old Ibanez RG450 Stock Pickups Problem

Hello Ibanez forum, this is my first post!

Nice to meet everybody! I am a hobby guitarist and Ibanez fan.

You can listen to my music here:

So.... A friend gave me his old Ibanez which was sitting around. Its a mid 90ies model RG450 (1994) made in Korea, with stock pickups and a lo-trs II tremolo. Well i immediately tremolnoed it because it would not hold the tuning although having been professionally set up.

I kinda like the playability but the pick ups are not what i expected. I always had problems with noise and hum using DAWs with this guitar so i upgraded my sound interface to a Focusrite Solo 2nd gen hoping I'll get the sound people on youtube get from plugins. A friend of mine has an oLD maudio interface and with quality plug ins and a decent guitar (esp - not ltd - eclipse with active emgs) and sounds great. Tons of gain zero noise, clarity, punch, character and i was hoping to reach that level. I got some improvement of course but no matter what i do i can't make the Ibanez sound professional if that makes sense. I have to use hi gain metal plugins both free and paid but always get this weak tone which seems ok at the beginning but sounds digital and dry in the mix. As far as noise goes i had an improvement compared to the lousy Behringer 10 dollar interface that i used to own but if you crank the gain it gets pretty noisy. But not as bad as before though. Do you think it's the guitar's fault? I haven't tried a high end guitar yet on my Focusrite. I also don't have proper monitors. I just connected my old Phillips 2.1 pc speakers to the card so i can't really trust a mix sound good on another system. I can get a balanced mix As far as volumes go but as far as frequencies i guess my speaker system isn't flat enough.

Could i improve the guitar sound with new wiring and hotter pickups, an optimal l)and a pair of studio monitors?? This guitar also sounds very thin. Not twangy like a strat but thin in a bad way. Ideally i want something chunky with riffs but fluid up high with leads. Now it's kinda muddy and weak all around.

Or would it be better to just save money and buy a new one all together??

I personally dislike the infinity pickups and agree that they sound thin, you would certainly benefit from better humbuckers, my own favourites are SD JB and Dimarzio Evo, you could even fit EMG's if you just disconnected the middle single coil.

Good quality pickups is always an improvement, but I think good quality studio monitors are one of the most important things when recording. You need to accurately hear your recorded sound, not use speakers that make it sound good... But I'm no pro at recording, just a hobby guitarist trying to get good recorded sound like you. I went from Behringer to M-Audio to Focusrite too...
