Pickup configuration

Good afternoon,
I just joined this site, but have been visiting periodically for awhile. I have a rg5ex1. I decided to save a lil time and hassle by paying a dude to set up the bridge neck and everything. First exp with a floyd rose type system. Anyway, I didn't care for the strings he used and when I went to change brands, I needed to setup and was going to do it myself. When I went to adjust the spring claw, I learned that the tech had stripped out the wood where it holds the claw. I bought a schaller, and decided to play around.
I purchased a set of dragonfire active pickups. For that price, its worth checking them out. I don't use the middle pickup ever. The set I bought does not have a middle single coil. Exactly what I wanted.
Does anyone have an idea what I can do with the remaining single coil? Should I just leave it in? Can I hook it up to work passively(without battery) alongside the actives? Should I leave a random hole there?

Re: Pickup configuration

I would leave it in as a "dummy", I like the look of the 5EX1.
