Pickups For Mahogany Body Washburn WI45

So i'm sure this question has been brought up before, but i've got a washburn WI45 (Les paul-ish shape) and i'm looking to replace at least the bridge pickup to get rid of the sizzle, and pretty average tone. I use this guitar primarily for heavy rock and metal, I'd like it to be more articulate and punchy, without sacrificing tone (no actives) but also good enough for soloing and lead work. I'm considering the duncan distortion, d-sonic, crunch lab, or d-activator but just can't seem to make up my mind about which is best for me. Does anyone have any advice?

I should also mention this guitar will be most often tuned in drop or standard C

Read this first:
http://www.jemsite.com/forums/f35/be...ps-109555.html

Then use the search feature--this gets asked/answered quite a bit.
Use keywords: mahogany and pickups.

However, there are loads of new pickups being released all the time so there's nothing wrong with starting a new thread to bring things bang up to date!

Anyone tried the new Gravity Storm pickups in an LP style guitar yet? Anyone posted extensively in a thread about them? What about the dominions?

So far--only 3 of us have the Gravity Storms, and I'm not sure what guitar Petieput his in.

Good point, though-would still be helpful to know what amp and gear he's using.

Where is this said search feature? Do you mean the comparison shopping? I've looked at forums on here before, but i could never find exactly the answer i was looking for

It's strange that the Gravity Storm and Dominion have very similar EQ curves, but are most likely not anything a like considering the playing style differences between morton and vai.

The search feature is in the nav bar to the right, and below the vendor banners.
The Gravities and Dominions are a little similar, but I find the Dominions a bit chunkier.

I love them both--and think either set would sound good in mahogany. Probable the Gravities more.

The gravities huh... it'a hard for me to envision steve vai with a heavier, chunky pickup considering most of his work seems to be searing, shredical lead soloing.

Thanks for the info.
