question about diagram

in that what do the grey circles on the tone and volume pots represent?

i understand the wiring routes but..just not sure what those are..
hah hopefully this isnt a stupid question

haha ooh ok...

but in reality i wouldnt want to do that to the bottom of the pot right? id want to connect those wires and try to use the solder sparingly right?

You're right, you want to use as little solder as possible, but it is sometimes difficult to heat up so much metal (as the volume pot). You could also use a terminal ring to run all the grounds to and then have one wire from the ring soldered to the volume ground.

alright, so just to make sure, the grounds should be wound up in a terminal ring to the volume ground. is this volume ground you speak of a wire? cuz i dont see a green wire leading to it...juist from the pickups(iirc green is ground - unless this is a different convention)... but isnt that the purpose for the wire connected to the bridge?

sorry if i have misunderstood

onthat diagram isnt there supposed to be another cap on the other pot?
