Question about installing new pups

Hi ya

I have a quick questions...

When installing new pups, you have to tape off 2 of the wires (on DiMarzio's) - what tape do u use? Insulated? Cellotape? Electrical?

I use either electrical tape or sometimes heatshrink tubing.

ahhh thanks m8s

I'll nip to the local electrical store and get some tape I think

Do you actually tape them together so the bare wires touch each other or do you tape them up together?

Yes, I'm a little confused, too. I assumed you meant you had to solder the 2 wires together (to configure the pup in humbucker mode) and then put tape around the soldered wires so they wouldn't short anywhere. Are you talking about something else?

What kind of configuration are you doing here? Two humbuckers and a 3-way switch? Two humbuckers and a 5-way switch? Any coil tapping?

Yep, sounds like you know what you're doing.

If you're confused about anything else, thingamabober and it's brother should help a bit.

Normally Humbuckers are wired in the Series Configuration. This gives max power from the pickups, the normal humbucker sound we all use and love.
