Question about pick-ups.

I have question that's been confusing me for a while.

I've been looking to get new pickups for my guitar but the thing that's bothering is.

In what direction is a Zebra paint-scheme? is it white closest to the bridge or the neck?

I want it to look like this and I'm confused

http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/ima...Z_GK_00_04.png

please help me to sort out which of the pick ups is a regular zebra and which is a zebra-reversed.

Thanks

Re: Question about pick-ups.

I have had both so you are going to want to find the pickups you like and see if they have the white-bottom, black-top configuration. If worse comes to worse, you can flip the pickups over to make them however you want.. there is a thread here somewhere discussing what, if any, is the tonal difference. OR you can order a few cream or white colored vinyl skins (like a stickers) to put on an already all black humbucker to turn them into zebras..

I've never heard of a zebra pickup referred to as "reverse. maybe some companies have the black on the bottom and others have white

I was just on the Guitar Fetish store website, ( I buy alot of stuff from them) The have a rail humbucker that is cream on bottom and also a regular humbucker that is black on bottom but they are both called "zebra".

Re: Question about pick-ups.

You're best bet is to call/email whichever pickup manufacturer directly.

Re: Question about pick-ups.

Be careful though. On an H-S-H the orientation of the pickup makes a difference in positions 2&4. If you flip any in the wrong direction you will lose the hum cancellation.
