Split5 Switching system on my JEM10th

Hi!
Recently i found the tiny little manual that came with JEM10th.
At the back of manual, it describes the split switching systems of the pickups on 2 different setups (although thereīs just i minor difference).

JEM & Co:
On the neck pickup (at switch position 2, counted from the neck side of switching), the middele pickup is together with the neckside-coil on the neck P-U.

On S540BM S540FM and RG770G itīs the other coil connected with middle P-U in position 2.

Why?

How can i see that in the Otax Wiring diagram (at the Ibanez\support\wiring pages)?

Anyone have an idea why itīs done that different ways (Since its on JEMīs PGMīs RGīs it canīt just be a Vaiísh idea).....

TONE question or?

Just a thought....
CYA.

The only reason it's different is the pickup is reversed on a JEM, just so Steve could get the neck side in the split.

Yes, which lends itself to being more 'Strat-like'... Closer to the 'correct' offset between the coils for that sound - and, to retain hum-cancelling while accomplishing all that.

Oki, thatīll make an easy change if wired "wrong", just turn the PU "otherway"
Nice an easy

Anyone tried out PRS kind of 5-switch rotary wiring eg. split and phase?

I liked the second notch from "neckposition", it sounded crystal and with a little bit of gentle tone ?

Pity i had to sell that piece of art i had (-92 Custom 24 birdinlayd black/grey beauty, 5-way rotary and tremoloeqipped).....well i have to stick to my old friend "Bumblebee" JEM10th...
Perhaps iīll get me an old PRS when i get into the "oldhouse" in the future, and drive the grand-maīs crazy
