Squealing guitar

I have a problem that I hope someone out there might be able to help me with.

I had the pickup selector switch and output jack socket changed on one of my guitars, and since then have had a problem with a high pitched squeal coming from my amp. I think it may have something to do with the pickups being interfered with by an induction loop (I play quite often in churches where there is almost always an induction loop for people with hearing aids).

Any advice ?

Sounds like a grounding/shorting problem. I had a similar thing happen at a gig last week. Turns out somebody stepped on and crushed one of my guitar cables where it meets the plug, causing the signal wire to contact the shield, making for some ungodly noise until i figured out what was wrong. (Unfortunately, not until after our set was over. )

Thanks for the post Darren

Do you mean that there could be a problem with the ground in the output jack after the rewire? If so why dont I experience the same thing at home?
