Surprisingly high output with stock V2 on a 570

I recently picked up a time-machine 1990 RG that's completely unmolested, original everything and clearly never been played much.

So, here's the unexpected part: the stock V2 bridge pickup consistently provides a louder signal than my 1991 RG 570 with an Evolution at the bridge.

I don't necessarily like the pickup as well--it's kind of nasal. But I was shocked at the output. Is this to be expected?

Your amp settings might be scooped at points where the Evolution exceeds the stock pickup.

I'm not recording an amp output--I'm plugging straight into a Line6 UX2 interface and recording the direct signal. Playing the exact same phrase with the same articulation (or as identical as I can make it), the V2 records about 2db hotter than the Evolution.
