Lightbulb Switching tone capacitors

Hello,

I'm about to make some adjustments on a wiring of my RG, but I'm wondering if this is something that some of you have already experimented or not.

I'd like to make my neck pickup a bit fatter, but without changing it. I've got the Paf Joe but it is a bit too bright (partially due to the position b/c of the 24-fret neck) and I've found that reducing the tone cap value will shift the frequency response a bit to the bass side. I already tried this but without switching capacitors.

Here is a schematic of how I intend to do it.
This will allow a value of 21,5nF engaged with the EVO2 and in the 2nd position. And starting from the 3rd the cap will be reduced to 14,7nF.

Please let me know if you think this could make it or if you experienced anything about this.

Thanks

Re: Switching tone capacitors

I forgot to mention that the 5-way switch is a basic fender-style 5-way switch

Re: Switching tone capacitors

Use a DPDT switch, install a few different value caps you like, wire that directly to the lugs on your tone pot and you'll have different cap options

His original idea is smarter then this. He wants to switch caps just by using pickup 5-way switch.

Do you know how caps work?
They have to be attached to a potentiometer to function--or there is no point...the tone pot.

If a DPDT switch is added to the lugs of the tone pot in place of a single cap--the OP will have the different cap options he seeks.
You dont just go throw caps in line with pickup leads on a switch.

SInce my original message (2 weeks ago) I've wired my RG550 as shown on the schematic: this works perfectly.
