V1 and V2 Pickups

You might think I'm crazy for thinking this, but I dig the V1 and V2 pickups (stock in older RG models). Problem is... They are hard to come by. Do any of you have any suggestions for alternatives? Any pickups you can think of that sound about the same? I'm even open to suggestions to any pickups that you think are 'better' but are reminiscent of V1 and V2 pickups. Of course, when I have the money and if they are listings for them, I'll snag the little guys.

If you're only here to insult me for my taste and tell me the pickups are "crap", click off now. Serious replies only, please and thank you.

Rock on! \m/

EDIT: I think instead of getting both the V1 and V2, I'm just going to get the DiMarzio Super Distortion and V1 (if I'm correct in that the V1 was the Neck pickup in the older RG models and S Classic series.)

Re: V1 and V2 Pickups

no clue as far as replacements...but i love the v1 and v2 pickups in my 89 550...they're warm and not too fuzzy...i think age has done wonderful things for them...so you're not alone in liking them...my advice? buy them used off ebay when they show up...shouldn't be too expensive...d.m.

Glad somebody agrees with me.
Yeah, I'd prefer to get the real deal it's just a matter of timing. I'd still like to know if there is pickups similar in tone that are still in production. I only recently fell in love with the V1 and V2 but man are they ever fantastic.
