V2-S1-S1 Wiring Pots

I"m wiring HSS V2-S1-S1 guitar.
Do you know which pots originally came with
Ibanez 440S or RG560 (250K OR 500K) ? (those guitars
came with V2-S1-S1).

Thanks.

Re: V2-S1-S1 Wiring Pots

A quick google search directs me back to this site:

http://www.jemsite.com/forums/f35/ne...-a-113889.html

The part values aren't specified in the original diagram, but in the one below they use 500k pots, which is probably reasonable. Having done a bit of experimentation, it doesn't make THAT big a difference - the 250 pot will make your singlecoils a hair darker and lower the resonant peak a little, but it's not night and day.

If you know the year of manufacturer you could try poking around here:

http://www.ibanez.com/support/wiringdiagrams

Also, reading that Jemsite thread, man, AlaskaBat was kind of a jackass before he got banned, wasn't he? I don't remember liking him very much when he was a member here, but he had absolutely ZERO tolerance when answering member questions...

Thank you
440S and RG560 were manufacture at 1988-1992 so
no wiring diagram at Ibanez site.
It is also important to remind that S1 is real single coil.

Re: V2-S1-S1 Wiring Pots

500k audio taper pots. 24mm base and either 18mm or 15mm shaft. I'm pretty sure guitars with a pickguard like an RG550 would take the 15mm and rear routed would take the 18mm. You could buy the 18mm to be safe and you can always use a washer or something to shorten it if necessary. Some of the pots have a thicker shaft like Bournes and CTS...i usually try to avoid those because if you do have to use them on a guitar with a pickguard like a 550 they don't fit through the hole and don't like altering the pickguard to accommodate. In your case it might not be an issue.

Re: V2-S1-S1 Wiring Pots

Are you sure 500K ? Are you sure the 440S and RG560 had
500K pots ?
i thought that because there 2 single coil
it is more logic they had 250K.

I do not have a problem about size as i know that Dimarzio
pots will fit.

My '87 RG560 has a 500k volume and tone pot, so yes i'm sure on that one. I don't have a 440S so i can't confirm.
