V7/V8 wiring question

I'm planning on sticking these in my Squier Strat (having swapped the magnets, too) after having recently got a Breed and D-Activator for my 1570.

My question is - which wire is which on the V7 and V8? I need to know which is ground etc...

Also, I've never done anything like this before. My dad's a competent solderer and is happy to do all the work providing he knows what goes where.

I'm planning on simply having the two humbuckers, removing the middle pickup and just having one tone control. If anyone has any advice on how to achieve this, or has any links to wiring diagrams that'd be great. Is it possible to do this with the 5 way selector just having 2 active positions?

How it's okay asking about this, what with the Squier not being an Ibanez. If that's a problem, just pretend I'm talking about an Ibanez.

Re: V7/V8 wiring question

Red wire is hot, white is to tap for single coil(tape it off if you don't need that feature).
