Very cool video, Sean. I feel like the description of the order you play the pickups in is wrong? It sounds like you're playing the bridge first and the neck last, but your description says the opposite.

On the distorted sounds, I'm having a hard time figuring out when you switch pickups.

Hey there.... Have checked, and the order is correct..... The distorted change is pretty subtle... It does change, but usually just as the notes get higher.....

Re: Vai Dimarzio Shoot-out....

Thanks, man! I've been thinking about switching out for a set of gravity storms, but after listening to your clips I think I'd really be digging on the Breed in a live setting. Totally loved that tone!

Btw, it def sounded like a neck to bridge progression, and although the distortion is a bit more subtle, I think the distinct characteristics of each pup still stand out. I imagined the GS would have sounded more like what it turns out the Breed does.

Thanks for the shootout!

Re: Vai Dimarzio Shoot-out....

Cheers mate.... yeah the differences between pickups dont seem huge to me, but I like certain settings with different models.... quite partial to the split neck/single with the Breed for clean....

About to put a set of Evo/EVo 2 into a Jem333 so see how that goes.... but dont think you can go wrong with any of the Vai pickups.... they are all a step up from the standard factory Ibanez ones...
