VLX91 / EP1112 on a rg350?

Hello all,

How great to see a forum still alive and buzzing, after all others seemed to have perished under the glare of the despicable bookface..

Ok, So I've bought an RG350 - purely on the grounds that I wanted a guitar with a maple fretboard.
The INFS are on their way out, and at the neck is going an Air Norton (covered) & at the bridge, a Tone Zone, and I was toying with ditching the middle but it seemed more agro than it was worth, so I have been considering the True Velvet middle.. Now the spec reads....

"The True Velvet Neck and Middle models have the same specs except for reverse polarity on the middle pickup for hum cancellation in the 2 and 4 positions"

.....and having found other threads on this site (before I just joined) regarding putting a air norton s in the middle position, I come across this mention of the VLX91 / EP1112 switch, in order to have positions 2&4 function correctly.

Of course, I have also looked at the dimarzio PDF, but that is vague at best.

The mechanicals of the job, I will be quite ok with. It is the actual technical know-how of what is or is not needed, that I lack.

Or do I put in an FS-1, which has no mention of the above sentence in '" .... "".

Thank you for any input.

Both polarities will work for the single coil. And you can, but not necessarily need to use a VLX91.
When splitting humbuckers in positions 2&4, correct function or hum cancelling is a matter of using the one coil from the humbucker with the opposite magnetic polarity of the middle single coil.
If you would have a guitar with two single coils, the use of both True Velvet versions would let you have hum cancelling when switching both single coils active.
